Dr. Mary Ruth Swope’s Academic Credentials:

      • Doctorate in Administration at Columbia University, NYC in 1963.
     • Master's Degree in Foods and Nutrition at WCUNC, Greensburo, North Carolina  in 1945.
     • BS Degree in Home Economics from Winthrop College, South Carolina in 1940.
     • Dean of the School of Home Economics for Eastern Illinois University from 1963 to 1980.
        She retired from this position.
     • Head of Foods and Nutrition for the University of Nevada from 1958 to 1961, when she resigned to pursue a Doctorate.
     • Assistant Professor of Foods and Nutrition for Purdue University from 1956-1958.
     • Head of the Home Economics Department for Queen's College from 1946-1949.
     • A District Nutritionist for The Ohio Health Department from 1944-1946.
     • High School Teacher in North Carolina for six years.
